Why Join the Makers Market?
As part of the City’s Economic Vitality Strategy (EVS), we have reimagined the vendor experience to ensure this pilot is as accessible as possible:
-
ZERO COST: No application fees and no booth fees. Your success is our priority.
-
PRIME CASTRO STREET LOCATION: With thousands of residents, office workers, and visitors heading downtown to kick off their weekend, you’ll have a front-row seat to the city’s heaviest foot traffic. It’s the perfect opportunity to engage with a captive audience right as they transition into an evening of dining and discovery.
-
STRATEGIC TIMING: By operating on Friday afternoons and evenings, we capture the transition from the workday to the weekend, putting your products in front of downtown diners and residents alike.

Each vendor may apply for one 10x10 booth space.
Participation is free. -

No. It is free to apply. -
How soon will I know if I’m accepted?
The Economic Development will review applications against the stated purpose of the event. We aim to confirm the full season roster in July. -

Each vendor provides their own set-up. 10x10 tents in good condition are encouraged but not required. You must bring weights or sandbags for your pop up tent - securing tents to City property is prohibited. -

As the winter months bring earlier sunsets, we encourage vendors to bring battery-operated lighting to create a welcoming environment. The City will provide supplemental lighting as needed. -
Where can I unload my goods?
Cars are strictly prohibited on the pedestrian mall. Vendors may park in Lots 3 and 6 and use the pedestrian passageways for easy access to the 300 block of Castro Street. -
Is there power available?
There will be no power available to vendors. Please plan for a self-sufficient setup for this pilot series.
Accessibility & Atmosphere
-
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Castro Street is wheelchair accessible, and we will maintain strict adherence to all pedestrian paths and fire lanes. -

Well-behaved dogs are always welcome on Castro Street! Please be prepared to clean up after your pet.
