 Empowering Local Creators. Activating Our Streets. 

The City of Mountain View is proud to announce the Makers Market Downtown, a new pilot series designed to turn Castro Street into a vibrant hub for the local creative economy. This initiative provides a low-barrier platform for artists, makers, and micro-entrepreneurs to showcase their work, build their brands, and connect directly with the Mountain View community.

Our Strategic Mission

The Makers Market isn’t just a market; it’s a strategy to increase the vibrancy of Mountain View. By lowering the barriers to participate in this Makers Market we are:

  • Supporting Local Entrepreneurs (EVS Action 3.2): Directly investing in the local creative economy.

  • Encouraging Flexible Activation (EVS Action 1C.3): Using city streets as a testing ground for micro-businesses.

  • Branding Mountain View as a Destination (EVS Action 2A.4): Creating a unique Friday night experience for residents and visitors.
