Lobby Art: Rotating Art Exhibits at Mountain View Center for Performing Arts

Each year, the Mountain View Visual Arts Committee curates a series of rotating exhibits featuring the work of local Bay Area artists and artist collectives for display in the lobby of the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (MVCPA). These exhibitions, which change every 6 to 8 weeks, are designed to enrich the cultural experience of MVCPA patrons and to showcase the diverse perspectives of the local creative community.

To ensure the highest standard of artists integrity and community relevance, all exhibits are chosen through a rigorous and transparent jurying process:

  1. Artists must submit a comprehensive proposal, including a portfolio of work and artist statement.

  2. Every member of the Visual Arts Committee individually reviews and scores each application. Final exhibition selections are made during the Committee's public meetings, ensuring the process is open and accountable to the community.

  3. Once selected, exhibitions are scheduled for 6 to 8-week durations based on availability.
