Downtown Mountain View is a mixed-use, walkable city-center for residents and visitors alike. Located on Castro Street between Evelyn Avenue and El Camino Real downtown offers restaurants, shopping and performing arts near transit, a civic center and plaza. In addition, Downtown is home to many small to mid-size start-up technology companies.

Downtown is a priority for the Mountain View Community. To help residents, business owners, and visitors stay informed about ongoing, current, and future Downtown projects and initiatives, these webpages will be regularly updated to ensure everyone has the most current Downtown information.

On October 25, 2022, City Council adopted an ordinance establishing the pedestrian mall on the 100, 200, and 300 blocks of Castro Street. As part of this project, the City is working to create a welcoming, vibrant, and active downtown with a focus on the below areas:
